Our research focuses on the synthesis and investigation of novel boron- and fluorine-containing molecules and their use as building blocks in materials chemistry. For the synthesis of these building blocks, we use a variety of fluorination techniques such as the direct fluorination with elemental fluorine or electrochemical fluorination (Simons method). In the field of materials chemistry we are interested in ionic liquids, ionomers and coordination compounds.
Another focus is on the electrochemical characterization by cyclic voltammetry, impedance spectroscopy and related methods.
