National and International Awards for G. Bringmann
10/01/2012Bringmann’s contributions to science and his continued dedication to reviving Congolese universities were recently recognized in the form of The Congolese Medal of Merits in gold, his appointment as a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts, and an invitation to the Federal President’s garden party.
During summer holidays Prof. Bringmann has been extremely busy collecting national and international awards. Only a few weeks after receiving an honorary doctorate from the University of Graben (Congo) he was awarded the Congolese Civic Medal (“Medaille du Mérite Civique 1ère Classe”) in gold, together with his colleague Virima Mudogo, professor of chemistry at the University of Kinshasa and alumnus of the University of Würzburg. Then he received the good news from the European Academy of Sciences and Arts that he was appointed to be a member. Finally, he was invited to the Federal President’s garden party in the park of Schloss Bellevue, where the President honored the many years of dedicated voluntary work done by his guests, allowing Prof. Bringmann to introduce the excellence scholarship program BEBUC.
