Chemistry professor Claudia Höbartner is being honoured for her outstanding research on the nucleic acids DNA and RNA: She receives the prestigious Leibniz prize endowed with 2.5 million euros.

Prof. Dr. Dieter Oesterhelt, ehemaliger Direktor des Max-Planck-Instituts für Biochemie in Martinsried, ist am 28. November 2022 im Alter von 82 Jahren verstorben. Oesterhelt war von 1975 - 1979 Vorstand des damaligen Instituts für Biochemie und Inhaber des Lehrstuhls für Biochemie, welche im Gebäude am Röntgenring 11 untergebracht waren.
