After having been awarded with a visiting professorship of the Chinese Academy of Science Prof. Würthner will visit the top Chinese Universities and Research Institutions in Chemistry and Material Science in 2011 and 2012. On his first trip to China in August 2011 he visited the Institute of Chemistry of the Chinese Academy of Science in Beijing, Shandong University in Jinan and the East China University of Science and Technology in Shanghai. The latter is a partner university of Universität Würzburg and Prof. Würthner received a warm welcome by its president Prof. Xuhong Qian who is also a former Humboldt fellow from the Institute of Organic Chemistry in Würzburg.
