International Workshop on Nanotube Optics and Nanospectroscopy (WONTON ’15)
The WONTON meeting 2015 will take place from 1-4, June 2015 at Banz Abbey, a former Benedictine Monastery in upper Franconia.
The workshop focusses on latest experimental and theoretical developments in the field of carbon nanotube spectroscopy and nanooptics.
Topics include but are not limited to
- Spectroscopy and fabrication of nanocarbon materials
- Photonics of nanoscale devices
- New methodology in experiment and theory
- Spectroscopy of non-carbon nanoscale systems
Related topics of current interest will also be covered at the meeting.
The meeting is intended to bring young and experienced researchers together to facilitate discussion of the most current research on these intriguing two-, one-, or zero-dimensional materials.
This meeting is the 6th within the WONTON series and is jointly organized by Tobias Hertel (Julius-Maximilians University Würzburg), Achim Hartschuh (Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich) and Alex Hoegele (Ludwig-Maximilians University Munich).
The first meeting of the WONTON series was held in Telluride (USA) in 2005 and was organized by Jun Kono (Rice University) and Tobias Hertel (University of Würzburg) to address the demand for a focussed nanotube and nanooptics meeting with high profile. Followup meetings were held in Ottawa (Canada), Sendai (Japan), Bordeaux (France) and Santa Fe (USA).
